Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ikenne Remo, Ogun State, has felicitated with the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo and entire sons and daughters of the town, both at home and in the Diaspora on 2022 Akesan Day Celebrations.
The council boss, in a release from his media office on Wednesday, rejoiced with the monarch and indigenes, as well as residents of Iperu for witnessing another edition of the celebration of its socio-cultural heritage, which is aimed at fostering unity and communal development of the town.
Ogunleye expressed appreciation to God for sparing their lives, and for counting them worthy among the living. He also commiserates with those who lost their loved ones since after last year’s edition as he prayed to God to console and comfort them, while also praying for the repose of the souls of all the departed.
He commended the Chief Babajide Oyeti-led Iperu Development Association and the Akesan Day Celebration Committee for putting together the event.
The Chairman used the medium to specially welcome the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, an illustrious indigene and a great ambassador of the town, to the grand-finale, holding on Saturday, 26th November, 2022, at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo.
This year’s celebration, the 36th in the series, commenced on friday, 18th November, 2022, with jumat service at the Iperu Central Mosque, and will be rounded off with a thanksgiving service at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral, Iperu, on Sunday, 27th November, 2022.
