Former chairperson of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs. Folake Adeniji on November 19, 2022 turned 50 and hosted her families, friends and colleagues in grand style at the Government House, Valley View, Igbein, Abeokuta.
Aside from treating her guests to assorted meals, she had her newly established musical band titillating them. Another spectacular thing about her golden age bash was that almost all her guests spotted branded polo shirts with her name and the name of the wearer inscribed on each.
It was quite rejuvenating as many of them wore prescribed jeans pants and these special tops that made many of them in her age group or older looking years younger. The old men were looking boys and finer and the women looked girlish and seemed set for taking, capable of mingling from all angles.
A few songs dished out by the promising band took some in the audience down memory lane; days when the mamas and papas in attendance were gals and boys, and many of them responded with admirable dance steps.
The event was really not all about foods and music or dance alone as this “hardworking woman, Folake also used the occasion to unveil her new foundation with which she solicited funds for the needy such as the aged, old and fragile, the indigent students etcetera.
Many in the audience spoke glowingly about her drive and passion towards improvement of mankind and also impact the lives of the needy.
The event was graced by people from far and near. In the audience were her colleagues from the pen pushing profession – Journalism, Christendom
