DELTA YOUTHS HAIL APPEAL COURT JUDGMENT CONVICTING SENATOR NWAOBOSHI

A group known as Delta Youths Movement (DYM) has hailed the recent court of Appeal judgment in Lagos, Presided by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke which handed a seven year jail term to a serving senator Peter Nwaoboshi.

The movement said the decision of the court of appeal has restored the hope of Nigerians in the judiciary as they also advised that the Supreme Court should follow the Path of the Appeal court.

Leader of the group, Kenneth Abonyi, said Nigerians had started having faith in the judiciary while praising the EFCC for carrying out thorough investigation on the matter.

It will be recalled that early this month, the court of appeal sitting in Lagos handed over a seven year sentence on Peter Nwaoboshi over a property that was said to have been illegally purchased, using the names of his property, Guinea House limited.

The Appeal Court in its ruling had also ordered that Senator Nwaoboshi’s two companies, Golden Touch Construction Project Ltd and Suiming Electrical Ltd be wound up in line with the provisions of Section 22 of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2021.
