We prayed fervently to stop Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from emerging as the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Revealing this on Monday following the emergence of the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress was Senator Sandy Onor, the Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party.
He narrated how himself and members of PDP in the state prayed to stop the emergence of the former Lagos State Governor as the APC standard-bearer because they believed Bola Ahmed Tinubu remained a strong politician to defeat.
The PDP governorship candidate confessed that they never wanted Tinubu to emerge as APC presidential candidate and admitted that the 2023 Presidential contest would be a tough one between Atiku and TInubu.
According to Senator, “It’s going to be an interesting battle but a lot still has to fall in place for us to be in a position to hazard reasonable guesses as to who will eventually win.”
The politician opined that the 2023 presidential election would have been an easy ride for Atiku if Tinubu didn’t pick the presidential ticket of the ruling party, adding that the popularity and influence of the politician described as a serial winner would make it difficult for the PDP presidential candidate.
