The Senator arrived the venue of the primary around 12:48pm with some of his supporters and confidently told reporters who had gathered that he would triumph at the primary

However, the arrival of his challenger, Senator Adeola around 1:28pm
changed the narratives
as the teeming faithfuls of the party gave him a rousing welcome. This was later manifested in the huge votes Senator Yayi received and thereby thwarting the desire and desire of the Iboro town born Senator Odebiyi from returning to the red chamber after the end of his current term.

The Senatorial district primary election for Ogun West was conducted inside Orona Hall, Ilaro, the Headquarters of Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.
