The Chairman of Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin, has charged Principals of schools to always take advantage of any opportunities of extra curricular to train and educate their students.
Lawal-Solarin gave this charge at the Closing Ceremonies of the 2-week Mental Arithmetic Training organised by Remo Growth and Development (RemoGDF) which took place on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Ipara Community High School, Ipara Remo, and Muslim High School, Sabo, Sagamu.
The Chairman who expressed satisfaction with the performances of the students in the Abacus Mental Mathematics training, disclosed that many more projects in the education sector would be reeled out in the future and charged the Principals to prepare their students for challenges which he believed would bring out the best in the students.
Professor Adewale Solarin, who is a Professor of Mathematics, poured encomium on the students and their trainers who, according to him, displayed a good grasp of the procedures and methodologies of the Abacus system.
RemoGDF team was led on this working visits to the schools by the Chairman of the Foundation, Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin, ably supported by Professor Adewale Solarin of the National Mathematics Centre, Abuja, Chief Operating Officer of RemoGDF, Princess Yemisi Oluwole and immediate past Principal-General, Remo, Alhaji Ganiu Rahmoni.
The Chairman of Ipara Community Development Association (ICDA), Prince Adewole Sowole, led members of the association to welcome the RemoGDF team to Ipara Community High School.
The Ipara program was sponsored by the ICDA, championed by Sir Dipo Onabanjo, Mr. Ayo Bammeke, Alhaji Hakeem Ashiru and Prince Adewole Sowole.
The team was received at Muslim High School by the Principal, Muslim High School (Junior), Mr. Bolaji Ajetunmobi. Also in attendance were:
representatives of the sponsors (Engr. Wole Ogunsanya and Mr. Sesan Olusanya) and Otunba Tayo Opanubi, Chairman Omotayo Schools, Tayo John; Alhaji Adam Odumuyiwa, Deputy Director, Lagos State Ministry of Education.
The first event at Ipara High School, Ipara Remo was held between 9.00 am and 11.00 am before the convoy moved to Muslim High School, Sabo, Sagamu for the second event between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm where students were drilled on the Abacus Mathematics Training and they demonstrated high degree of understanding enthusiasm.
